It's-Not-A-Problem-It's-A-Syndrome Syndrome
Have you seen the commercials for Requip, the drug that is supposed to counteract Restless Leg Syndrome? (And for that matter, why is every little ache and pain now affiliated with a full-blown syndrome or disorder? I mean, if I stub my toe while walking, do I suffer from Vertical Motion Disorientation Syndrome, or am I simply clumsy?) Anyway, one of the side effects attributed to Requip is a potential increase in the intensity of one's desire to gamble. Seriously. How did they even discover that to be a side effect? Did they happen to have a blackjack table just laying around in the laboratory when they were conducting the clinical trials?
I'm curious, that's all.
